One of the deepest needs in our lives is meaningful worship. As individuals and collectively as a church, we need to continue to discover this dedicated heart of worship and give it the importance it deserves in our lives. In order to gain a heart of worship, we must first understand the meaning of true worship. Today, Pastor Dan outlined the values that true worship brings out -a joy of cleansing, a sense of security, and a new sense of responsibility towards God and others – as well as the conditions for meaningful worship – how it requires proper preparation of our hearts and that prior prayer for the service and church is essential. Through this special continued dedication and intent towards God, a new kind of people are created – those that are no longer satisfied with living apathetically but rather are filled with a desire and passion for God.
Key Verses:
Matthew 4:10 (ESV) – “Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’”
John 4:23-24 (ESV) – “‘But the hour is coming, and now here, when the true worshipers will “worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”‘
Listen to hear more of the message from Pastor Dan and come visit The Branch on Sunday at 10 AM. Throughout the week, please continue to pray for Pastor Dan, our worship team, our church and our ministry as it grows in the Long Branch neighbourhood!
